Introducing Berean Lucas!

Berean Lucas was born Tuesday, April 12th at 9:13pm!  He’s 8lbs, 7oz and 21 ¾ inches long.  I was induced but had to have a c-section after 25 hours at the hospital.  Everyone is great—Berean is perfectly healthy and perfectly handsome, I’m recovering well, and Adam hasn’t fallen off his feet yet, either!  Praise the Lord!!

His name means “Seeker of Truth and Light.”  It’s from Acts 17:10-12, which is a story from right after Jesus died and came back to life, when word about what happened was spreading like wildfire.  Paul and Silas were traveling around, talking about what they’d seen.  “As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea.  On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.  Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.  12 Many of the Jews believed.”  That’s our prayer for little Bear, that he would always eagerly seek truth, study and understand the Bible, and always test what he hears to see if it lines up with truth.

It’s pronounced “Bear-RE-an” (the first e is short, second is long).  We’re calling him Rean (RE-an) for short (pronounced like Ian with an R, or Ryan with a RE at the beginning).  And, of course, his nickname is still Baby Bear.  J

We are so in awe and in love with this little person!  God is so good and we feel incredibly blessed and excited!!
